Dear Diary,

It’s interesting, being invisible. Considering the countless years that have gone by it’s amazing how in times of turmoil I suddenly become noticed, needed, and even wanted. Of course I come to their aid, for the most part it’s because I care. But there’s also that desperate need to be appreciated, even if it’s just a little bit, for a short amount of time.

But it’s tiring, going through the same cycle over and over. I eventually decided to just sit back and observe, my genuine feelings of concern turning into passive thoughts of pity. I even came to terms with the once crippling loneliness and embraced the solitude, reaping it’s benefits and grew stronger with a steady pace.

I noticed I was suddenly becoming absurdly amused by the obstacles the other nations around me and out there were going through. I sit here, keep myself updated and actually laugh outright at the mediocrity that ensues due to their careless greed and pride. Even as my own brother seems to struggle with his undisclosed desires and needs for his country, I simply watch and smile, waiting.

Waiting for the day they all fall.

But for now, I will remain unseen and watch from the sidelines.

After all I’m merely just harmless Canada.

Invisible to the rest of the world.
